This year, ACA International’s FUN Committee planned a number of activities for staff during Collector’s Challenge Month. Employees were encouraged to participate in a number of challenges, and ACA matched pledges based on the task to support the Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship program.
Throughout April, companies were encouraged to coordinate company fundraising activities to contribute donations to the ACA International Education Foundation (ACAEF) at any level. Collectors Challenge Month provides the opportunity help support scholarship funding and get team members working together outside of their day-to-day responsibilities, while also helping to highlight the importance of financial literacy through the Loomer-Mortensen Scholarship Program.
Here are a few of ACA’s activities:
Popcorn Challenge
During ACA’s monthly all-team meeting in our Eagan, Minnesota, office, attendees were encouraged to gather together in the common area for a popcorn taste test.
Participants were challenged to blind guess the brand of three different kinds of popcorn, with the winner taking home a gift card prize. Participants were also encouraged to donate during this portion of the challenge as well.
Photo Contest
Employees were encouraged to take interesting personal photos and share them for a chance to win a $25 gift card with their winning photo printed out and displayed in the front entry way of ACA’s office. Staff will vote at the end of April on their favorite to determine the winner.
Walk/Run/Bike-a-Thon
Participants were asked to pledge a dollar amount per mile to either walk, run or bike during the month of April and send in their pledge and total miles.
Plant a Tree with the Canopy Project
In honor of The Canopy Project’s Earth Day project, participants could donate $1 to earthday.org and $1 to Collectors Challenge to help plant a tree somewhere across the globe to fight deforestation.
