ACA International’s 2022 Collectors Challenge Month will come to an end on April 30, but plenty of our members have already shared what they’ve been up to using the Collectors Challenge Toolkit and by posting on social media.
With April being Financial Literacy Month, it’s the perfect time to recognize the importance of financial literacy in the accounts receivable management (ARM) industry and support the efforts of the ACA International Education Foundation (ACAEF).
Here’s what some of our members have done to participate in Collectors Challenge:
At CheckMark Collections, President and CEO Melissa Nash organized participation for staff in a local 5K race and a baseline donation of $500 to the Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship Program.
“Our collector challenge is fitness. For every minute less than 60, we would add another $10 per minute—supporting the ACA Education Foundation’s Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship Program all while having fun together,” Nash wrote in a LinkedIn post.
Williams & Fudge Inc. hosted a golf putting challenge for its staff. Staff paid $5 to participate and, if they made a long putt, Williams & Fudge donated $20 for the employee to the ACAEF.
“Our putting challenge was a success and lots of fun,” said Amelia Anderson, director of marketing and business development at Williams & Fudge. “We helped raise funds to support the Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship program. Our staff had such a fun time supporting a great cause.”
The team at Gulf Coast Collection Bureau participated this month as well, hosting a bowling night in support of the challenge, with their chief operating officer, Mary St. James, stealing the show with a final score of 177 at the end of the night.
“Gulf Coast was excited to participate in this year’s Collectors Challenge to raise money for ACA’s Education Foundation supporting the Loomer-Morten scholarship fund. Our team hosted a bowling night where team members got to share food, fun, and fellowship all for a great cause. Many of our team members work remotely and it was a great opportunity for them to spend some time to build our team spirit,” said Jack Brown, president at Gulf Coast.
At Helvey & Associates Inc. in Warsaw, Indiana, Human Resources Manager Gary Gross said the company has been part of Collectors Challenge for decades.
“Certainly it’s great to be connected with something larger than any of us individually,” Gross said. “While quality financial education is priceless, it takes money to make it happen. We’re honored to have the opportunity to contribute. Additionally, we’ve been able to do a number of things that are fun and bring our team closer together. We look forward to doing this every year.”
If you have already finished your Collectors Challenge activities, the toolkit has a form to complete to share your participation and photos by May 31. There is a poster to share at your company and a flyer to share with participants or donors, all available on the ACAEF website.
