The Federal Trade Commission will mark 2022’s Identity Theft Awareness Week Jan. 31-Feb. 4 with a series of free events focused on trending issues in identity theft, including how to reduce your risk of identity theft and recover if it occurs, according to a news release.
During the week, the FTC and its partners will host free webinars, podcasts and other events focused on trending issues in identity theft that are helpful for ACA International members as they work with consumers who may be subject to identity theft.
The FTC hosted an early webinar for Identity Theft Awareness Week on Jan. 25 featuring experts from the FTC and Department of Veterans Affairs who discussed identity theft and privacy concerns that directly impact veterans and their families. Identity Theft Awareness Week will formally begin on Jan. 31 with a Facebook Live discussion on impersonators and identity theft. It will end Feb. 4 with a Twitter chat recapping identity theft trends, advice and recovery guidance discussed during the week.

Know My Debt is a free and insightful resource for consumers seeking answers to their questions about credit scores, when a debt is considered delinquent and placing alerts on credit reports due to fraud or identity theft.
