In an effort to bolster financial inclusivity and provide equitable credit opportunities, four key federal agencies are uniting to host a dynamic roundtable discussion on Sept. 12, 2023, at 3 p.m. EDT.
The event, which will be livestreamed for public accessibility, will explore the realm of special purpose credit programs designed to cater to the credit needs of eligible individuals who often find themselves marginalized by traditional financial systems.
The following people are scheduled to offer remarks at the discussion:
- U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Secretary Marcia L. Fudge
- Acting Comptroller of the Currency Michael J. Hsu
- Federal Housing Finance Agency Director Sandra L. Thompson
- Consumer Financial Protection Bureau Director Rohit Chopra
Under the umbrella of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Regulation B, special purpose credit programs have emerged as a potent tool in promoting fair access to credit. These programs serve as a conduit for responsible lending practices that cater to the unique requirements of economically or socially disadvantaged consumers and commercial enterprises.
