A year after its inception, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Taskforce on Consumer Financial Law will release its findings, analyses and recommendations during a presentation at 1 p.m. EST Jan. 5.
The task force was charged with examining ways to harmonize and modernize federal consumer financial laws and given a year to submit a report of its findings and recommendations to the director, according to the CFPB.
The five-member task force includes representation from attorneys, former regulators and academic leaders.
Jean Noonan, a partner at Hudson Cook in Washington, D.C., which has an ACA International member office in Maryland, serves on the task force.
ACA will follow the Jan. 5 presentation to provide an update for members.
Chair of the task force, Todd J. Zywicki, professor of law at George Mason University (GMU) Antonin Scalia Law School, senior fellow of the Cato Institute, and former executive director of the GMU Law and Economics Center, will also provide an update for ACA members at the Committee of 100 meeting in February.
