Central Portfolio Control (CPC), an ACA International member company based in Minnetonka, Minnesota, supported its local community this holiday season by assembling and distributing care packages for people experiencing homelessness.
The Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul have an ongoing need for homeless assistance and resources, particularly during the winter as the temperatures routinely dip well below freezing.
Both Minnetonka and the Twin Cities have seen a rise in homelessness as the effects of the pandemic continue to disrupt the local economy and rental rates steadily climb. An article in a local newspaper noted that many homeless encampments were dispersed due to health safety concerns during the pandemic.
CPC employees took action, purchasing enough materials to assemble 70 care packages to deliver to people experiencing homelessness. Each package contained a lunch, snacks, a mylar thermal blanket, a knitted beanie, thermal gloves and thermal socks. CPC employees handed out the care packages on Christmas Eve and Christmas day.
