Have you ever attended a meeting where you couldn’t get a word in? Have you ever felt as though people weren’t taking you seriously as you gave a presentation, negotiated or provided feedback? It’s irritating and discouraging to feel as though your voice isn’t being heard.
As a woman, speaking up can be especially challenging. It’s easy to feel as if you or your thoughts and feelings aren’t taken seriously. Unfortunately, these concerns are not unfounded, as—contrary to popular belief—women speak less in the workplace than men.
The ability to negotiate and be heard is one of the most critical skills in any interaction as a woman but is rarely developed.
Join Beth Conklin, director of organizational training and development at State Collection Service Inc., and Kristen Rowles, vice president of organizational development and training at CBE Companies, for a compelling 2022 Visionaries Conference session on how enhance your voice to be heard, become a master negotiator, exude confidence and find your power!
Join this session, “You CAN Always Get What You Want – Negotiate Anything” at the 2022 Visionaries Conference, held Nov. 1-2 at the Radisson Blu Aqua in Chicago.
In this session, Conklin and Rowles will help you:
- Discover five areas that enhance your voice.
- Identify the characteristics of a confident negotiator.
- Practice strong negotiation skills.
- Reveal your superpower and how to use it.
More Ways to Connect
Join Dinner with Strangers Tuesday, Nov. 1—an event that takes you out to a local Chicago restaurant for dinner with five to seven other Visionaries. You won’t know who you’re dining with or which Chicago hot spot you’re going to until you check-in at the meet-up location. There is no registration fee for Dinner with Strangers, but each person will pay for their own dinner and drinks at the restaurant. RSVP for the event is required.
Visionaries Scholarships Are Still Available
There are currently a few scholarships left that will assist in covering registration fees and hotel costs for Visionaries. Due to a generous donation from CCMR3 and co-founder and CEO Jacob Corlyon, members can apply for the remaining available scholarships on a first-come, first-serve basis. CCMR3 is also the diamond sponsor for the event.
Access the 2022 Visionaries Conference scholarship application here. The application will be available until all the scholarships have been distributed. Applicants will receive a notification within five business days as to whether their application has been accepted and ACA will provide updates on the availability of the scholarships.
