Connect, learn, and advocate with ACA in June 3 online event.
5/14/2020 9:00
The Washington Insights Livestream conference is fast approaching June 3, and our reimagined format provides an important opportunity for more members to connect and advocate across the miles.
If you haven’t signed up already or previously attended one of our advocacy conferences in Washington, D.C., here is why you should join us:
Connect
The accounts receivable management (ARM) industry is currently embroiled in one of the toughest political fights in its history to continue operating. Over broad legislative efforts in response to COVID-19 at the state and federal level have harmed the ability to communicate with consumers and some instances have nearly halted operations. Joining our livestream conference will show lawmakers and regulators the power in numbers and while we can’t meet with them on Capitol Hill this year, members’ attendance will build on the efforts of ACA staff continuing to work on our advocacy mission and making the industry’s voice heard.
Learn
Members should join ACA’s livestream event during this highly critical time for the industry to hear pertinent discussions from key policymakers and their staff, Washington insiders, and industry experts. The ARM industry is also awaiting to the first ever debt collection proposal from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
The livestream will feature a panel discussion with Tom Pahl, policy associate director with the CFPB, on the bureau’s outlook for the remainder of 2020 along with members Mike Frost, partner, Malone Frost Martin PLLC and Tim Collins, chief compliance officer and general counsel with TrueAccord.
Advocate
In addition to COVID response legislation packages, there are over a dozen debt collection related bills on Capitol Hill, and the Federal Communications Commission is addressing key issues about the Telephone Consumer Protection Act, SHAKEN/STIR and call blocking and labeling. Hear and participate in these additional panels during the livestream and find out how you can continue to help ACA advocate with lawmakers and regulators:
- COVID-19 Administration, Legislative and Regulatory Efforts Impacting the Debt Collection Industry with Mark Neeb, ACA International CEO; Leah Dempsey, ACA vice president and senior counsel, federal advocacy; Andrew Madden, ACA vice president state and government affairs; ACA President Roger Weiss, IFCCE, Tamar Yudenfreund, senior director, public policy with Midland Credit Group, Encore Capital Group; Chris Brown, principal, Cypress Group; and Travis Johnson, principal, 1607 Strategies.
