National Small Business Week (NSBW) is underway, and the U.S. Small Business Administration is hosting a free virtual summit throughout the week of April 30 – May 6, where you can interact with other business owners and get expert advice.
For 60 years now, National Small Business Week has celebrated the contributions of small, local, independently owned businesses in every U.S. community.
We know that most ACA International member debt collection companies are small businesses, with nearly 85% maintaining fewer than 49 employees—making this week a good time to connect with other businesses and access resources.
NSBW celebrations officially commenced with an in-person, two-day event and awards ceremony for honorees and guests, along with a virtual summit for online attendees. SBA Administrator Isabella Casillas Guzman kicked off the national event on April 30, addressing this year’s winners and guests during the award ceremony, educational sessions and networking events.
The festivities continued after the D.C. event, with Guzman hitting the road to visit St. Louis, Minneapolis, Phoenix, and Albuquerque for more workshops, training, small business visits and local award ceremonies.
“Small businesses are the heart and soul of America’s economic engine and the realization of the American Dream for millions of entrepreneurs. National Small Business Week is an opportunity to loudly and proudly celebrate their achievements and the essential contributions they make to communities across the country,” Guzman said. “The Biden-Harris administration is committed to investing in America, and, at the SBA, that starts with providing critical supports for our entrepreneurs and small business owners. Since 2021, nearly 12 million Americans applied to start new businesses, with women and people of color doing so at the highest rate. The SBA is committed to creating a level playing field that gives these innovators and job creators the tools and opportunities they need to prosper.”
