Debt collection practices and possibly legislation are slated for discussion in Thursday’s hearing with the full House Financial Services Committee.
Sarah Auchterlonie, a shareholder at Brownstein Farber Hyatt Schreck who worked with ACA International on comprehensive comments to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s proposed debt collection rule, will testify among witnesses at the hearing at 10 a.m. EST Sept. 26.
The hearing was rescheduled from this summer and comes a week after the CFPB’s comment deadline for the proposed rule.
Chairwoman Maxine Waters, D-Calif., and Ranking Member Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., have not announced specific legislation and debt collection practices they will review during the hearing, which was originally set for June.
