ACA International members across the miles had the chance to hear some of their favorite songs—combined with inspirational messages on leadership and adapting to change—in Wednesday morning’s Virtual Convention & Expo keynote presentation with Mike Rayburn, “The What If … Experience?” sponsored by RevSpring.
ACA CEO Mark Neeb started the session by recognizing members’ contributions to the association in the last year, including the 2020 award winners, and ACA’s advocacy with legislators and regulators. Read about the 2020 member awards here
“It would be an understatement to say this has been quite a year,” Neeb said. “ACA is an association that simply can’t move forward without volunteers and we thank you for your service.”
Roger Weiss, IFCCE, the 2019/20 ACA president, presented highlights from the year, including the work of the Technology and Innovation Committee and the new Women in Collections Resource Council, as well as achievements in the Industry Advancement Fund.
“We are building bridges,” Weiss said, before introducing Rayburn, who provided an entertaining viewpoint on how to explore innovation and embrace change.
Rayburn discussed how to lead without being discouraged in challenging times, including those specific to ARM industry regulations and legislation.
He engaged with participants through music and guidance on how to pinpoint and overcome professional challenges. He encouraged participants to set goals before performing renditions of songs from Journey, Taylor Swift, Queen and more.
Rayburn set the tone for energetic and engaging Virtual Convention & Expo.
