A new ACA International training, the LevelUp Leadership Experience Sept. 23-25 at The Hilton Minneapolis/Bloomington, will focus on these traits of leadership and professional and personal growth strategies with guidance from expert facilitators and members of ACA’s board and upper management.

Q. What can Attendees Expect from the Leadership Experience Presentation?
A. At the 2019 ACA International’s Level Up Leadership Experience, the StrengthsFinder presentation will help you understand how you uniquely influence others. You’ll discover your authentic leadership style through the strengths-based language of innate natural talent: what you do most naturally. When we try to be like someone else, it just doesn’t work! No two leaders are alike, and no two challenges will be solved in the same way. We each approach the same situation just a little bit differently. Through the lens of what’s intuitive for you, this workshop will help you understand how to lead by being your best self. This sounds deceptively simple, but it truly is! You will love this opportunity to learn a language for what’s right in a presentation that is interactive and fun. Unlike any workshop you’ve experienced, this will positively impact your professional life and your personal relationships.
Q. How Will You Help Attendees Learn About Their Leadership Styles?
A. To be an effective strengths-based leader, you need to focus on three key areas: knowing your strengths, investing in others’ strengths, and understanding the strengths of your whole team. Through self-reflection and fun, interactive team conversations, this workshop will cover each component in detail. We’ll also cover the issue of leadership blind spots: do you know how others see you? Through light and often-humorous discussions, you’ll gain insight into the perspective of others, and how you can alter that if you wish! This is often the most anticipated part of our workshop.
Q. How are These Meetings Valuable to Building Leadership Skills?
A. Participants will come away with an understanding of their unique leadership style and gain confidence as they consider current leadership challenges. Being more of who you are and less of who you think you should be is the key to becoming a more authentic leader. Knowing and understanding a language for strengths allows tremendous clarity. When aligned with our goals, this is the most powerful roadmap for a successful leader. You will create a leadership toolkit with ideas and strategies to help change the culture of your organization.
The 2019 LevelUp Leadership Experience also features the opportunity to network with the ACA Board of Directors to hear their leadership stories and gain advice on how they can better serve your company. The final day of the program, Sept. 25 at ACA’s headquarters, provides a half-day of discussions on best ideas and burning issues that are being faced by all companies in attendance. There’s no better opportunity for your leaders to gain this knowledge in a small-group peer-to-peer environment, facilitated by ACA’s President Roger Weiss, IFCCE, and President-Elect Scott Purcell.
