President Joe Biden selected acting leadership for several federal agencies Wednesday, including David Uejio at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
Kathy Kraninger resigned as CFPB director on Wednesday and Deputy Director Tom Pahl retired earlier this week, ACA International previously reported.
Uejio will serve as acting director until Biden’s recommendation for the permanent role, Rohit Chopra, is confirmed by the U.S. Senate.
On Wednesday, Biden named Phil Rosenfelt as acting secretary of the U.S. Department of Education and extended a moratorium on student loan payments and interest until at least Sept. 30, 2021. Rosenfelt previously served as acting education secretary before Betsy DeVos was appointed by former President Donald Trump in 2016. DeVos resigned earlier this month.
A complete list of acting leadership appointed by Biden is available on the White House website.
