As part of its ongoing effort to help members succeed, incoming ACA International CEO Scott Purcell announced that the association will assume management responsibilities of the California Association of Collectors Inc. (CAC) beginning Jan. 1, 2022.
“As our industry continues to adapt to change, building on strong relationships with state units is a critical part of our success as the leading voice of the accounts receivable management industry,” Purcell said. “Members of the California Association of Collectors represent one of ACA’s largest state units that have laid the groundwork for advocacy on several critical topics, such as debt collection licensing and state data privacy legislation. They are strong leaders who are dedicated to advancing the industry and working toward strategies, goals and positive change on the state and federal level. This is an incredible opportunity for ACA and members of the CAC.”
ACA will provide CAC with executive leadership, strategic guidance and business function management, including finance and accounting, marketing communications, membership processing and administrative support.
The unit management services from ACA also help our members with cost efficiencies and resource conservation as the industry continues to adapt.
ACA Director of Member and Association Services Tammy Schoenberg will serve as CAC’s executive director.
“ACA International’s partnership as manager of our state unit was a natural choice given the association’s top resources on industry education, advocacy and compliance,” said Chris Schumacher, CAC president. “We are excited for our dedicated board leaders and our new management with ACA to work together and continue to build on our legislative advocacy success and grow as a unit.”
Many members may not be aware that ACA manages several related entities and units, such as the International Association of Commercial Collectors, Florida Collectors Association, Great Lakes Credit and Collection Association, Georgia Collectors Association and ACA Foundation, and provides contract services to some units as well. This is an area ACA looks forward to growing in the future.
