Back-to-school season is in full swing in some states, and will be soon in others, meaning employers and their employees should plan now and continue to discuss the options for leave or working from home under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) signed into law in March.
Attorneys Elizabeth Fite Blanco and Rachel Morris from Louisiana-based member firm Sessions, Fishman, Nathan & Israel will review the FFCRA and paid leave options during the next ACA Huddle for members at 11 a.m. CDT Wednesday, Aug. 26.
Fite Blanco and Morris will talk about how to be proactive as an organization as your employees reenter the workplace while dealing with the unpredictable impact of kids going back to school in-person or online.
The interactive discussion will also focus on employees’ eligibility for FFCRA paid leave if a school offers an in-person learning option or a hybrid option for students; if intermittent FFCRA paid leave is appropriate; and if traditional Family Medical Leave Act leave applies.
The ACA Huddle also features a daily update on the current landscape for receivables businesses as both the federal and state governments are discussing or enacting legislation and regulations that will impact both collection activity and business operations of our member agencies. ACA’s advocacy and compliance teams are tracking this activity and will provide members with a daily update on the current landscape for receivables businesses. Join the ACA Huddle each week to stay up to date on the rules of the game.
