Nathan Simington’s nomination was approved in a party-line vote Tuesday.

Less than a week after approval by the Senate Commerce Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, the full Senate voted 49-46 to approve a five-year term for Nathan Simington.
Democrats objected to the vote in hopes to advance a bipartisan group of FCC nominees in 2021, according to media reports.
Simington’s confirmation means there will be a 2-2 split between Republican and Democrat members after Chairman Ajit Pai resigns on Jan. 20, 2021.
