North American Credit Services employees in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in October banded together in honor of late CEO Dallas Bunton Sr. to raise money for the American Heart Association.
“In honor of Mr. Bunton, we participated in 100 Reasons to Give, which we doubled to 200 Reasons to Give since our goal was to raise $10,000,” said Becky Jackson, vice president of communications and marketing.
NACS completed the “200 Reasons” fundraiser at the ACA International member company’s headquarters. Employees sold treats, lunch items and held garage sales to achieve the goal for the 2019 American Heart Association (AHA) walk on Oct. 26, 2019.
Staff could also purchase a paper heart for the company’s bulletin board and replace it with a notecard that had their reason for donating.
“We paired this with a health fair that focused on heart health and provided tips on exercise, nutrition, managing stress and learning the signs of heart disease,” Jackson said.
On Oct. 26, members of the NACS team joined the AHA 2019 Tennessee Valley Heart Walk, which had over 1,500 participants.
In total, NACS raised more than $12,000, far surpassing its donations of about $1,200 in 2018.
“This was a great company-wide effort in honor of Mr. Bunton and those who have suffered and fought heart disease,” Jackson said.
