ACA International’s Licensing Services team has learned the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs has issued new licensing numbers for licensees, effective April 13, 2021.
Licensees will receive a new license in the mail reflecting the change in their license number within seven to 10 business days of the department’s notice, which was sent out on April 14. All other information on the new license, including the expiration date, remains the same. The department’s “Verify-a-License” service has also been changed to reflect this new license number.
These changes are being made now in anticipation of system configuration requirements for the department’s new online licensing and regulatory database called the Michigan Professional Licensing User System (MiPLUS). Over the next few years, all professions will be transferred into this new system.
Licensees who would like to know their new license number before their new license arrives in the mail can visit www.michigan.gov/bpl, and select “Verify a License” and then search by their licensee name.
Contact the department at (517) 241-0199 or [email protected] with questions or for more information.
