Joe Galdiano, ACA special projects director (center), along with Marjorie Benson, ACA public relations director and staff coordinator, discuss ACA's production of "The Problem Solvers" film with personnel. The film was part of a new public relations project launched by the association in 1978/79. At a 1978 Board of Directors meeting in Washington, D.C., ACA members J. Kendrick Johnson, of Flemington, New Jersey, and Paul G. Olson, Jr., of Cortland, New York, decided it would be helpful to ACA members to have a new public relations aid such as a 16mm color film. Half of the $30,000 needed to fund the film was on hand within 90 days, according to the “ACA’s First Fifty Years” book. Work on the film pushed ahead rapidly, with the goal of having the first showing at the ACA national convention in Honolulu the following June.
