The Georgia Collectors Association (GCA) is pleased to announce its 2021 Phil Bennett Memorial scholarship winner, Nathan Kleber, who will be attending the University of Georgia in the fall. Kleber attended Dunwoody High School in Dunwoody, Georgia, and is the son of GCA member David Kleber of Bedard Law Group in Duluth, Georgia. The scholarship for $1,500 will be awarded for the 2021/22 school year.
Scholarship applicants were asked to submit an essay on “the importance of credit to a young person.”
Winners were selected based on their essay responses.
In his essay, Kleber wrote: “With this system of representing fiscal responsibility and reliability with respect to paying back loans, young people who take credit seriously and who make a positive impression are able to receive loans in the future, while those who are irresponsible with their credit are not as likely to be given a loan and thus do not negatively impact the people who are genuine and trustworthy.”
