A lot goes on behind the scenes at ACA International to help ensure members working in the accounts receivable management industry have the resources, education and tools they need to run their businesses efficiently.
Leading those efforts is Vice President of Member Experience Jessica Hartmann, currently in her 20th year at ACA.
Hartmann is focused on ACA’s mission to help members succeed while attending association events, earning designations or even simply talking with the member services team for help navigating ACA’s wide array of resources.
Here is an excerpt from Hartmann’s interview in the November issue of Collector magazine reflecting on her two decades at ACA and the exciting programs currently in development.
What are some new benefits ACA rolled out for members this year, and what can they expect in 2019?
We’ve had a very busy year! We introduced new professional designations and developed a new vision for the Credit and Collection Compliance Professional and Officer curriculum programs. We also introduced Capstone Assignments, which allow members to better demonstrate their ability to apply their knowledge and skills to their daily work.
In July, we released our newest self-paced computer training product, HIPAA Essentials for Collectors.
Next year, ACA is planning to update the Collectors Training Essentials Courses, FDCPA for Collectors and Collection Skills & Techniques. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
ACA’s Fall Forum is coming up Nov. 7-9, what are you most excited about?
We are introducing a new business intelligence curriculum this year. I am really thrilled to see how this program is coming together. We are a heavily regulated industry and so, out of necessity, we offer a lot of compliance and operational topics at our events. This new program, however, recognizes that our member companies are also businesses, and the leaders of those companies want and need training in areas such as budgeting, planning and human resources.
