ACA International CEO Mark Neeb last week captivated two very different audiences with facts, figures and personal experiences about working in the accounts receivable management industry.
Through an English translator, Neeb addressed a lively delegation of 18 Asian economists and business professionals representing the National Bureau of Statistics of China. The group spent two weeks in the U.S. vising Washington, D.C., and San Francisco on a mission to learn more about American business, the economy – and the accounts receivable management industry.
Neeb shared a high-level explanation of federal policy with the visiting Chinese who demonstrated a great interest in this country’s credit-based economy.
And on Friday, Neeb was among several C Suite-level professionals invited to discuss consumer protection issues at an event hosted by Holland & Knight, an ACA member law firm with offices in Washington.
Neeb discussed ACA’s position on issues such as Operation Choke Point, the Obama-era program in which the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) reportedly applied pressure to financial institutions to cut off financial services to certain licensed, legally operating industries including the accounts receivable management industry. He also discussed ACA’s highly successful Industry Advancement Fund along with this year’s favorable ruling in ACA vs. FCC.
Other speakers were Tom Pahl, policy associate director for research, markets & regulations with the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, and Anthony DiResta, Holland & Knight partner and former director of the Federal Trade Commission's Southeast Regional office.
