What’s great about the last day of Spring Forum? It means energized attendees are preparing to head home with new information, great ideas and updated skills to share with staff and colleagues.
This year’s Spring Forum & Expo ended Friday with information-packed sessions covering everything from staff retention to data security and much more.
To give you a brief summary, Friday kicked-off with an informative and lively #ForwardTECH session about software transformations called “Conversion Doesn’t Have to be a Scary Word: From One Platform or Vendor to Another.” In an interesting twist, the panelists were industry professionals who had worked together in a conversion – one was the vendor and the other the client. Making the session more interesting, the two didn’t reveal the business relationship until the end of the presentation, therefore demonstrating and sharing real-world information about finding a vendor, working with a vendor, and managing hiccups as a team.
Panelists Ranjan Dharmaraja, CEO of Quantrax Corporation Inc., of Bethesda, Md., and Angela Trunk, manager of PDQ Services Inc., of Woodstock, Ga., spoke candidly about building the right team to implement a new platform while ensuring that staff is onboard with the conversion. Trunk shared some interesting tidbits about her experience leading a conversion saying she started the process by visiting ACA’s Hub to find out if other members could share their thoughts and experiences. She also attended ACA events and took advantage of networking opportunities for insights from others.
After Dharmaraja and Trunk spoke, Greg Ruffino, director of training with Williams and Fudge, took the stage for a presentation on recruiting and training in a session titled, “Get ‘em in and Keep Them: Recruitment and Technologies.” He spoke about technologies, platforms and learning management systems to help employers make the right decisions up front and to later nurture staff for optimal retention.
Many other educational and information-packed sessions took place throughout the three-day event which attracted crowds of accounts receivable management industry professionals. ACA appreciates the sponsors and attendees who participated and looks forward to seeing everyone at future meeting.
And, a special thank you to everyone who bid on a silent auction item. All proceeds collected will benefit ACA International’s Education Foundation, which supports the Loomer-Mortenson Scholarship program.
