Employees from CrossCheck and its affiliate, ACA International member company Optio Solutions, got an early start on holiday giving by donating 25 turkeys to the Redwood Gospel Mission’s Great Thanksgiving Banquet 2018.
“Community giving helps us appreciate our individual good fortune during the holiday season and beyond,” CrossCheck CEO and President J. David Siembieda, who is also chairman of the board at Optio Solutions in Petaluma, Calif., said in a news release. “Our employees are perpetual contributors to a variety of causes, including local volunteer efforts and fundraising efforts near and far.”
Organizers and volunteers aggregated bags of donated food items between Oct. 8 and Nov. 20.
The companies continued their community giving in November by helping package 7,104 pounds of grocery boxes for seniors in need while volunteering at the Redwood Empire Food Bank (REFB) on Nov 19. The 240 boxes represent 5,920 meals, according to Volunteer Coordinator Joy Ferguson.
CrossCheck and Optio staff members have volunteered at REFB’s weekday Warehouse Support program for seven consecutive months to date. CrossCheck Senior Vice President Charles Dortch III organizes the effort.
“Our monthly volunteer night at the food bank provides the means for community giving and encourages team building among staff members from different departments,” Optio Solutions’ President and CEO Chris Schumacher said in a news release on the event
