ACA Updates SearchPoint™ Documents on Canada Collection Laws

ACA International’s compliance department has updated the following ACA SearchPoint™ documents available for members:

Can I Collect on a Holiday? (#1111): Content reviewed for accuracy and currency; added information on the CFPB’s Notice of Proposed Rulemaking.

Debts Incurred After Filing Bankruptcy (#2339): Content reviewed for accuracy and currency; no substantive changes.

FCRA Identity Theft Provisions Blocking Information Resulting from Identity Theft (#1521): Content reviewed for accuracy and currency; no substantive changes.

State Signature Requirements for Checks (#1220): No substantive changes.

Child Support Collections (#3072): Updated Colorado, Connecticut, and Illinois.

Age of Majority (#1153): Updated sections for Missouri and Tennessee.

Ontario Collection Laws (#2510): Updated throughout, see underlined and struck-through text.

Saskatchewan Collection Laws (#2513): Content reviewed for accuracy with no substantive changes.

Alberta Collection Laws (#2502): Updated “Refusal, Suspension, Cancellation, Terms” section and “Penalties” section; Content verified for accuracy with no other substantive changes.

ACA members may access the latest compliance-related documents via the ACA’s SearchPoint™ library. Members must be logged in to the website to access ACA SearchPoint documents.
