Purcell held a small ceremony near his home in Oregon in lieu of traditional event held at ACA’s Convention & Expo.

As part of ACA International’s reimagined 2020 Virtual Convention & Expo due to COVID-19, the closing celebration and installation honoring President G. Scott Purcell was also transformed to a small ceremony held in July in Oregon.
Following is an excerpt from Purcell’s speech thanking sponsors of the event.
Greetings. My name is Scott Purcell, president of ACA International and president of Professional Credit and Ensource. The people and organizations that typically support the ACA president’s installation and celebration are often ones that provide products or services to that person and their organization, and that is certainly the case this year for most of the sponsors. Success of ACA members is typically tied to the quality of the vendor and affiliate relationships they have, and I truly appreciate these sponsors’ support for ACA, for my installation, and in our day jobs your support of Professional Credit and Ensource.
KG Hawes
Chris DeLess and his team are a vibrant technology partner that offer the state-of-the-art collection platform that we use, including their very robust legal and data vendor modules, as well as their VoizTrail call analytics and auditing platform, which I have a lot of fun with. Their RoboDX ETL tool helps manage file transfers with clients and vendors, but also helps manage big data.
Renkim
Rob Augg and his team continue to grow and take on more ACA members as clients. Renkim provides not only the full breadth of letter services, but for a long time has offered email letter options. Their newest service offering is a partnership with SndRight to provide TCPA-safe text messages. I really like their functionality notifying us when a letter has been delivered.
Titanium Legal Service
Spencer Peck and his team provide top-notch process serving and have brought real innovation using many different technologies, including Robotic Process Automation, to improve each step in process serving. This includes seamless file sharing, pre-filing activities, the service itself, skip tracing, post-filing and proofs. Their innovation makes my life a lot easier.
CompuMail
Stephanie Kaster and the CompuMail team cultivate partnerships with their clients to ensure that they receive the best results and the highest level of data security at the most competitive price. CompuMail provides mailing and communication (email/text) services with a real-time portal to meet your management and oversight needs across the financial services, accounts receivables and healthcare industries. CompuMail is large enough to provide leading technology in the consumer communication space, but small enough to provide a high level of service to each one of its clients. Technology changes and business changes, but their commitment to service does not.
TCN
Mike Grey and his team at TCN serve ACA members large and small. TCN is a leading provider of cloud-based call center technology for enterprises, contact centers, BPOs and collection agencies worldwide. TCN provides cost-effective and cutting-edge solutions to meet the needs of call center users. I was glad we were on TCN before the crisis but was especially glad for the ease of remote deployment.
Cosgrave Vergeer Kester LLP
Cosgrave’s team of attorneys, led by their financial services practice group leader Robert Sabido, have successfully defended and brought significant value to ACA members. My favorite case, Peak vs. Professional Credit was supported by ACA’s Industry Advancement Fund with a win. The court ruled that the collector was not negligent in calling the plaintiff on her mobile device, even if the collector’s message was played in front of others, and therefore did not violate the FDCPA.
Connect International
Juan and his strong leaders in Nicaragua and Panama provide near-shore agents in the Central and Mountain time zones to support many ACA members, both large and small. I enjoy listening to Juan’s clients rave about the success they’re having with these agents, but also how well they fit into their own company’s culture. While I’m not yet a client, I have visited the Managua call center and was exceedingly impressed.
VoApps
Neal, Todd, Samantha and the rest of the team at VoApps have served ACA members, large and small, for quite a long time. I remember when direct drop voicemails first came out and no one would admit to using them—and now they’re a consistent communication tool for many agencies. VoApps is the only direct drop provider with patented technology and strategic assistance for deployment in both first- and third-party settings.
The Oregon Collectors Unit
Lastly, I want to thank the Oregon Unit for their support and sponsorship. We have current president Justin Watkins and incoming president Mark Hasson here today. The Oregon unit is a very special unit that provides outstanding support for Oregon collection agencies and has one of the most effective state lobbies in the country. And near and dear to my heart, as well as Jack Brown’s, is their annual all-you-can eat Dungeness Crab Feed fundraiser—which is not to be missed. Thank you so much for your support.
I want to point out that all the vendor sponsors serve ACA members large and small, and in most parts of the country. It’s a privilege to have your support and I so greatly appreciate your sponsorship to make this very unique event, changed due to COVID-19 this year, possible.
