ACA International’s Vice President and Senior Counsel of Federal Advocacy Leah Dempsey will join ACA board member Mike Frost, partner at Malone Frost Martin PLLC, and ACA member Stephen Beard, chief business development officer at State Collection Services, Inc., as a featured speaker in a webinar about the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s proposed debt collection rules. Hosted by Healthcare Financial Management Association, the 90-minute webinar titled “Understanding What the New Proposed Rules of the CFPB Mean for You,” begins at 2 p.m. Central, Tuesday, Oct. 8.
The speakers will identify areas of interest, both positive and negative, and will describe what medical providers should consider in order to maintain compliance as they partner with third parties in the revenue cycle management processes that are directly governed by debt collection regulations and the proposed rules. Participants will take away specific opportunities to improve patient experience and increase recoveries through options that will be available under the proposed rules.
