A new loan program is available from the U.S. Small Business Administration that will help small businesses with operations impacted by closures from COVID-19. ACA International will cover the program in its next Daily Huddle.
Tune in to the Daily Huddle at 11 a.m. Central Standard Time Thursday, April 2, for Payroll Protection Loans: A discussion with former SBA trial attorney and litigator Josh Schnell about the Payroll Protection Program, the terms of the loans, the conditions for loan forgiveness under the program, how payroll protection loans work with other sources of relief, the nuts and bolts of borrowing through the SBA, and the unknowns that lie in the uncharted waters ahead.
The session will cover additional guidance the SBA released this week about the Paycheck Protection Program. This includes a sample application. A fact sheet containing important information for borrowers was posted by the U.S. Department of Treasury.
Lenders will begin processing Paycheck Protection Program loan applications on Friday, April 3. Although the program will accept applications until June 30, 2020, most experts anticipate that the $349 billion fund will be exhausted quickly.
This will be a great session for members who are looking to take advantage of various small business loans and incentives. The Daily Huddle features guest Joshua Schnell, a partner with Cordatis LLP, and ACA’s advocacy team including Vice President and Senior Counsel of Federal Advocacy Leah Dempsey, Corporate Counsel Colin Winkler and Vice President, State Government and Unit Affairs Andy Madden
On Friday, April 3, the Daily Huddle will focus on operations and specifically agencies using remote work programs. Speakers include Tim Haag, president of State Collection Service Inc., Jack Brown III, president of Gulf Coast Collection Bureau, and David Williams, president of Williams and Fudge Inc. They will discuss the pros and cons of work-from-home-collectors and how to best manage remote workers.
The Daily Huddle is sponsored by BillingTree, Solutions by Text, and TCN. The meetings are now 45 minutes to allow members and ACA staff more time to interact on these important topics.
