As the leading trade association in the accounts receivable management industry, ACA International strives to provide consumers, lawmakers, the media and other stakeholders with accurate, timely information about debt collectors and the process of recovering unpaid funds. One strategy toward achieving this goal is the development and launch of a consumer website that provides updated information related to policy, regulatory and legal issues that would help an individual understand the accounts receivable management industry. Dr. Debt was once a premiere source for this information, but the concept needs to be updated.
The new consumer website will replace and update ACA International’s previous consumer education-focused website called “Ask Dr. Debt” with a fresh new name. While updated content is being developed for the website, ACA’s Financial Literacy Committee is sponsoring a members-only contest to name the new site and rebrand Dr. Debt.
The Committee seeks a new name reflecting the site’s purpose as the place for consumers to get balanced, accurate answers to questions frequently asked about debt collection. The site will be successful if: 1) consumers are able to easily find it; and 2) ACA members point to the site and incorporate it into their own consumer education efforts.
