Here are some important dates and deadlines to put on your April calendar:
- The California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation continues to seek comments on its Notice of Proposed Rulemaking regarding consumer complaints and inquiries under the California Consumer Financial Protection Law. Modifications to the proposed rulemaking were issued in March and comments are due April 7. Learn more.
- Register for ACA International’s Washington Insights Fly-In by April 14 to have your Hill appointments arranged. Learn more.
- Make sure your business is ready for the Visa rule change, effective April 15. The new rules prohibit the use of credit cards to pay off certain overdue debts in collections. Learn more.
- Share your knowledge and enhance your professional reputation by speaking at ACA’s Annual Convention & Expo. Proposals from innovators and experts are due April 19. Learn more.
- Submit comments to the Federal Trade Commission on its proposed rule that seeks to ban employers’ noncompete agreements and rescind existing agreements in an effort to increase wages and expand career opportunities for U. workers. The FTC extended the comment deadline to April 19 after requests from industry stakeholders, including ACA. Learn more.
- Submit comments to the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau related to its request for public input on how the consumer credit market is operating. The request for informationwas published in the Federal Register, and the public has until April 24 to submit comments. Learn more.
- Attend the CAC Legislative Day April 25-27 in Sacramento, which features advocacy events like breakfast with a legislator and a visit to the capitol building. ACA members located outside of California, take note: if you do business in California, CAC’s legislative efforts will help you as well! Learn more.
- Don’t miss out on the next Benchmarking Intelligence database report! You can sign up to participate any time, but to receive the next quarterly comparison report for Q4 2022, you will need to enter your data into the platform by April 30, and results will be available May 15. Learn more.
- Nominate an ACA member peer for one of our 2023 awards: The ACA International Member of the Year Award, the Industry Advocacy Champion Award and theVisionary Award. Nominations are open until May 1. Learn more.
- Encourage a student to apply for the ACA International Education Foundation’s Loomer-Mortenson Scholarships, available to individuals employed by or affiliated with the ARM industry and their children. Applications are due by May 15. Apply today.
