The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Ombudsman’s Office is reminding regulated entities about available engagement opportunities, plus upcoming reports to watch out for.
The CFPB Ombudsman’s Office is an independent, impartial, and confidential resource to help individuals, companies, consumer and trade groups and others informally resolve process issues with the CFPB.
Here are a few updates:
- Connecting with the CFPB Ombudsman’s Office. The office has several engagement possibilities to meet in person or virtually for upcoming conferences of industry stakeholders and regulated entities. Learn more here (PDF).
- Post-Examination Survey Program. The office is in its second year of the program, which provides a confidential avenue for supervised entities to share feedback and recommendations on the CFPB examination process. The FY2022 Annual Report (pages 17-22) describes the first year, including a representative set of participants’ feedback and recommendations.
The CFPB Ombudsman’s Office began exploring the post-examination survey at the request of the bureau in 2020, ACA International previously reported. The office conducted a beta test of the survey that year and going forward plans to select a group of supervised entities for participation based on location, product lines and the type of entity,
The ombudsman will have a Mid-Year Update later this summer. Previous Annual Reports and Mid-Year Updates are available on the ombudsman’s webpage.
