You can be at the center of the action and get the latest insights as we engage with regulators and key lawmakers face-to-face during ACA International’s 2023 Washington Insights Fly-In in Washington, D.C., May 15-17. Registration is open now!

“Washington Insights is the conference to learn the latest developments in federal, legislative, and regulatory advocacy that is taking place on behalf of ACA members,” said Jack Brown III, Esq., president at Gulf Coast Collection Bureau. “There is no better opportunity to be in the know on all things advocacy related to the ARM industry than Washington Insights.”

Activity in Washington, D.C., stands to have a major impact on our ability to operate and provide employment. We are excited to get members back into the Capitol to advocate for our industry’s latest pressing issues.

The 2023 Washington Insights Fly-In will return with the staple of the event—in-person meetings with legislators happening two different ways—combined with important updates on regulatory and legislative issues. The first meetings with legislators will be with officials ACA has built connections with—and they’ll be coming to us (a pivot from the pandemic that we’re keeping). The second way is ACA will also be arranging Hill visits for you with your state’s delegation like we did pre-pandemic.

This format will allow ACA members to learn the latest in ACA’s advocacy efforts and tell their stories—the best of both worlds.

“I’m thrilled with the new format of Washington Insights and believe ACA members will get even more from their D.C. visit,” said ACA CEO Scott Purcell. “ACA members are the constituents legislators need to hear from, and ACA makes it so easy for you to tell your story.”

We’ll kick things off with a welcome reception at the Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck offices, featuring members of Congress and continue with sessions at the Phoenix Park Hotel on days two and three, and finish with visits at the Capitol.

“Going to the Washington Insights Fly-In each year is incredibly valuable and important. Not only do you have the opportunity to meet with leaders in D.C., but you also have the opportunity, just by participating, to make meaningful change to the vision that these leaders have of debt collectors,” said ACA President and Creditors Bureau USA President Courtney Reynaud. “The legislators are able to see who debt collectors really are when they meet you and they have the opportunity to hear your stories, successes and learn about your business and the people you employ. I look forward to seeing all of you there!”

Critical Issues You’ll Hear About:

  • CFPB regulatory processes, including a proposal on arbitration agreements and a registry of nonbank covered entities with enforcement actions.
  • Medical debt credit reporting changes.
  • Data security and privacy.
  • Protections for callers in the TRACED Act.
  • ACA’s work with the FCC on the impact of call and text blocking on businesses.

“Washington Insights is a two-way street,” Purcell said. “ACA members will be encouraged to hear from many members of Congress who understand and fight for your issues. At the same time, your voice needs to be heard and your story needs to be told. Enjoy our nation’s Capitol, connect with fellow ACA members, and amplify your industry’s voice at this critical political juncture for our industry.”

More details will be announced for members in the coming weeks, but you won’t want to miss this impactful advocacy opportunity.
