Do you ever feel that no matter how hard you work, how many hours you put in, or what new ideas you come up with, it’s never quite enough? Do you worry about what other people will think? Do you tend to avoid taking risks or taking on challenges through fear that you’ll get in over your head, and do you hold exceedingly high expectations for yourself and always aim for perfection?
If you answered yes to any of these questions—you’re not alone. These thoughts have played continuously in the minds of almost every successful person. Despite the proof, countless promotions, having a voice at the leadership table, leading an organization—or even owning one—these thoughts echoed in their minds too. It’s more common than you think. And yet, we don’t talk about the fact that the more we succeed, the stronger these fears become.
With that in mind, ACA International’s Education Director Kelli Krueger and Kat O’Brien, senior counsel at Barron & Newburger P.C., created a session for ACA ’s 2022 Visionaries Conference titled “Imposter Syndrome is Your Superpower.”
In this session, O’Brien and Krueger will:
- Uncover what imposter syndrome is and why it affects so many people.
- Unpack the real impact of the fear of failure, perfectionism, and people-pleasing tendencies.
- Discover how to inoculate nagging feelings of self-doubt.
- Build resilience to face these fears and be the person you’re capable of being.
If you want to wholeheartedly believe you deserve what you’ve achieved, join us at the 2022 Visionaries Conference Nov. 1-2 at the Radisson Blu Aqua in Chicago, and leave with practical tips to help build self-efficacy and resilience, and navigate those feelings of fear and inadequacy.
More Ways to Connect
Join Dinner with Strangers Tuesday, Nov. 1, —an event that takes you out to a local Chicago restaurant for dinner with five to seven other Visionaries. You won’t know who you’re dining with or which Chicago hot spot you’re going to until you check-in at the meet-up location. There is no registration fee for Dinner with Strangers, but each person will pay for their own dinner and drinks at the restaurant. RSVP for the event is required.
Visionaries Scholarships Are Still Available
There are currently four available scholarships left that will assist in covering registration fees and hotel costs for Visionaries. Due to a generous donation from and co-founder and CEO Jacob Corlyon, members can apply for the remaining available scholarships on a first-come, first-serve basis. CCMR3 is also the diamond sponsor for the event.
Access the 2022 Visionaries Conference scholarship application here. The application will be available until all the scholarships have been distributed. Applicants will receive a notification within five business days as to whether their application has been accepted and ACA will provide updates on the availability of the scholarships.
There is still time to be a part of ACA’s Fall Forum and the 2022 Visionaries Conference, where you will acquire the latest industry knowledge and exchange views on shared challenges at both events
