The Michigan Association of Collection Agencies (MACA) and Great Lakes Credit and Collection Association (GLCCA) are excited to announce their merger, effective June 1, 2023. The combined entities will operate under the GLCCA name.
“GLCCA is extremely excited for the opportunity to welcome the Michigan members to our unit,” said Jaime Barthel, director of operations for Professional Services Bureau Inc. and GLCCA president. “Already, we have experienced their passion, industry experience, tradition and engagement at our 7th annual conference in Milwaukee. We look forward to the expanded look of GLCCA and welcome our Great Lake neighbors. Their insights and willing participation will improve our association and merge well with our established, experienced members of GLLCA.”
Founded in 2016 as a merger of the Illinois, Minnesota and Wisconsin units of ACA International, GLCCA is the largest regional unit of credit and collection professionals in the U.S.
“Michigan took time and significant care with this merger consideration, and with the drastic reduction in membership participation over the past few years, our leadership determined it was time,” said Tom Oldani, president and CEO of Arbor Professional Solutions and a GLCCA board member. “By joining GLCCA, we look forward to enhancing our resources, which will be essential to our success. We believe we will gain significant insight through participation with GLCCA, whether it’s fighting onerous legislative initiatives or how to implement the many safeguards, policies and procedures required for compliance. Our members who participate will certainly gain better access to the many vendors as well as broaden our network, which is so necessary to remain competitive in today’s collection environment. We are excited about this change and look forward to bringing GLCCA a wealth of industry knowledge from our Michigan members as well.”
Ryan Matrisch, director of business development for Pro Com Services of Illinois and past president of GLCCA, echoed these sentiments.
“We are excited to welcome Michigan to GLCCA,” he said. “The GLCCA board and Michigan board have worked very hard to accomplish this and we are extremely excited to strengthen our association.”
