The top Republican on the House Financial Services Committee, U.S. Rep. Patrick McHenry, R-N.C., has announced the House Republicans’ selection of U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman, R-S.C., the newest member of the House Financial Services Committee.
“I’m proud to welcome Congressman Ralph Norman as the newest Republican member of the Financial Services Committee,” McHenry said in a news release. “Ralph brings a wealth of knowledge and extensive private sector experience in real estate development. He will be a great addition to an already successful group of Republican members. I look forward to working with Ralph as we continue to promote pro-growth solutions to rebuild our economy and support American families.”
Norman also serves on the House Committee on Oversight and Reform.
“It’s an honor to join the House Financial Services Committee, and I thank Ranking Member McHenry for his leadership,” Norman said. “During this critical time for our economy, I look forward to putting my 45 years of private sector experience to work for the American people.”
The committee will meet for a markup June 14 to review legislation to expand the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act to cover commercial collections.
