ACA International’s education team is responsible for providing online and in-person learning opportunities for our expansive and ever-changing industry. We are excited to welcome a new member to the team: Aimee Ilkka, ACA’s new education administrative assistant.
Here, we sat down with Aimee to learn more about her background and introduce her to our membership, as she will be stepping in to lead the weekly ACA Huddle, held every Wednesday at 11 a.m., and help the education team develop fresh and exciting seminars.
Q. Why are you excited about working for ACA?
A. I am most excited about working closely with members, answering their questions and learning more about this industry. I am also excited to work with my education team. Bruno Lozano and Kelli Krueger are extremely helpful and knowledgeable, and I am grateful I get to work with them!
Q. What are you responsible for in your role as administrative assistant?
A. I will be working closely with Bruno and Kelli to bring our members interesting Hot Topics, Huddles, and all our other online seminars offered.
Q. As someone coming into the collection industry with “fresh eyes,” what has surprised you?
A. It’s surprising how many people have been in the same position as me—initially not knowing anything about the collection industry, but then gaining an understanding through their work at ACA. Meeting fellow team members and learning about their journeys has been very helpful in my onboarding process.
“Aimee is going to be a huge help in not only creating and developing our educational opportunities but also helping us find new ways to meet our members’ needs in this changing industry,” ACA’s Education Specialist Bruno Lozano said. “Having Aimee join the education team will allow us to make new and exciting learning opportunities.”
