The Florida Collectors Association is hosting its annual conference Oct. 4-6 in Palm Coast, Florida, at the Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa.
Educational sessions this year have been designed for managers, supervisors and leadership, as well as C-suite staff members, and include topics on the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, advocacy opportunities with ACA, electronic communication and more. ACA members from other units are encouraged to attend!
Highlights:
- Keynote Speaker Tyler Enslin will lead a discussion on “Effective Feedback.” This interactive presentation will examine feedback from both perspectives: giving and receiving. Participants will determine why constructive or “negative” feedback is often either avoided or delivered in a way that is ineffective. Through a series of videos, Enslin will discuss the common barriers that are experienced by the receiver. On the receiving side, he will discuss how to respond, accept and apply constructive feedback even if it is given in unkind or vague fashion.
- ACA International’s Vice President of Government and State Affairs Andrew Madden will provide an extensive update on recent legislative and regulatory activity and detail ways your agency and your clients can help make a big difference in shaping the public perception of the accounts receivable management industry and the issues that will impact our daily operations in the future.
- Kelli Krueger, ACA International’s director of education, will present a session titled “Innovate to Dominate: The Ultimate Challenge.” By the end of this session, attendees will develop the skills to actively listen to team members and incorporate different perspectives in decision-making, as well as create a culture of experimentation and resilience within your organization.
- Rick Perr with Kaufman Dolowich Voluck will present “Masterclass on Electronic Communication: Everything You Should Know About Emailing, Texting and Modern Communication.”
