ACA International’s Trainer Specialist Designation Workshop, a members-exclusive training opportunity to become an ACA-certified Trainer Specialist, returns May 2-4.
You will have the opportunity to onboard, retrain, and prepare your team for the Professional Collection Specialist (PCS) exam with ACA’s official essentials training kit.
“Trainers have a unique position in their company. In my experience, just about anyone you ask will be able to tell you who trained them, and they’ll easily be able to convey a story that will explain why the person and their training environment was memorable,” said CACi President Debra Ciskey, and chair of the Women in Collections Resource Council (WICRC), who will be one of the instructors for the workshop “Sometimes the person is memorable as an individual; but just as often, the student will remember a specific activity or day in the classroom that has stuck with them through the years. This is why it’s vital that trainers have the opportunity to learn their craft as much as the curriculum.”
The three-day workshop will cover different topics each day, including the following:
- Session 1: Principles of adult learning, training techniques, and Trainer Specialist designation responsibilities.
- Session 2: Train-the-trainer on FDCPA Essentials for the ARM industry.
- Session 3: Train-the-trainer on Essential Collection Skills and Techniques.
Leslie Bender, senior counsel at Clark Hill PLC, and LaDonna Bohling, IFCCE, CCCO, chief compliance officer at Receivable Solutions LLC, will also lead the workshop.
“The Trainer Specialist workshop is designed to bring both the craft and the curriculum to credit and collections industry trainers. No less than one third of the program is dedicated to the craft of training—using training techniques that help students learn and apply what they have learned to the job,” Ciskey said. “The days that focus on the curriculum include further discussion of how to train that material—Essential Collection Skills and Techniques and FDCPA Essentials—which collectors need to pass their PCS exam, and will support them on the job. The Trainer Specialist workshop is the ONLY collection specific trainer program available in the industry. Anyone who wants to up their training game needs to register for this program today.”
Prerequisites for this three-day training workshop include:
- ACA membership
- Current PCS designation
