The next meeting of the California Department of Financial Protection Innovation’s (DFPI) Debt Collection Advisory Committee will take place in Sacramento, California, and over Zoom on Feb. 15, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. PST.
The Debt Collection Advisory Committee is a seven-member board established under the Debt Collection Licensing Act that advises the DFPI on matters related to the debt collection business, including proposed fee schedules and other requirements.
The upcoming meeting will be open to the public and led by Senior Deputy Commissioner Suzanne Martindale and Deputy Commissioner Melinda Lee. ACA members on the committee will also be in attendance.
The agenda includes a program and regulation update (outside of pending current regulations), a roundtable discussion and an opportunity for public comment.
ACA members on the committee include Cindy Yaklin, president of States Recovery Systems Inc.; Kelly Parsons-O’Brien, president of Pacific Credit Services; Courtney Reynaud, president of Creditors Bureau USA and ACA board member; Pat Esquivel, general counsel and vice president of compliance at USCB; Syntheia Nagel, chief compliance officer at Cedar Financial; and Lilah Mclean, corporate counsel at Optio Solutions, LLC.
