ACA International is pleased to announce the promotion of Katy Zillmer to the position of director of public affairs.
In her new role, Zillmer will be responsible for developing public relations campaigns to build support for the organization’s advocacy priorities and initiatives.
“Katy has built a very strong background in advocacy reporting and media outreach,” said Andrew Madden, ACA’s vice president of government and state affairs. “Her writing and editing talents have helped support ACA in many ways, and I am thrilled to have her join our advocacy team to further enhance our advocacy efforts.”
Zillmer initially joined ACA in 2014 as a communications specialist, editing the ACA Daily newsletter. She was promoted to communications manager in 2020 with an increased focus on advocacy reporting. Prior to her arrival at ACA, she spent several years as a reporter for local newspapers with an emphasis on government and education.
Zillmer graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a B.A. in print journalism. In her spare time, she volunteers for the Alzheimer’s Association of Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter.
“I am honored and excited to work as part of our advocacy team with the goal to build on the success of our advocacy communications as a way to showcase ACA and our members’ advocacy work,” Zillmer said. “We are the voice for the accounts receivable management industry, and I look forward to expanding that voice, connecting more with members and helping all of us succeed in engagement with lawmakers, regulators and media representatives.”
