You can stand out among your peers, prove that your agency can be trusted to operate prudently, and instill a culture of professional development by pursuing an ACA International designation. Creditors as well as your peers notice professionals who have earned an ACA designation. You know your stuff—show it off!
ACA’s seven designations are highly recognized and regarded in the accounts receivable management industry. Start with the fundamentals by earning a Professional Collection Specialist designation, then build your expertise by pursuing credentials specific to collector, compliance, operations, leadership, health care and other industry roles.
Here, Jacob Corlyon, CEO at CCMR3 in Syracuse, New York, shares how his company leverages ACA’s designation program.
Q: How does ACA’s designation program attract and retain employees?
Corlyon: We believe that encouraging our people to obtain ACA designations not only provides them with a good starting foundation of relevant knowledge but also shows that our organization is making continued investments in their professional growth. We believe that this helps us not only attract employees but retain them.
Q: How does ACA’s designation program help attract and retain clients?
Corlyon: We find that current and prospective clients recognize that ACA International is the main trade association for the accounts receivable management industry, and as such, they like to see that we are members of ACA and that our employees have ACA industry designations. I believe that the reputation that ACA has for providing education and resources to its agency members, paired with the industry designations, gives clients an added layer of comfort, knowing that we will treat their customers in the professional and ethical manner that they deserve.
Q: How does ACA’s designation program increase compliance and operational effectiveness?
Corlyon: We believe that ACA’s industry designations provide our employees with a solid starting foundation of relevant knowledge that they can continue to build on. We also realize that it is not a silver bullet. Our people need to be lifelong learners, especially in our ever-changing landscape, so we continue to encourage them to stay up to date on relevant changes, new technology and new methodologies within our industry. This, paired with their ACA designations, has allowed our people to positively impact our organization’s compliance and operational effectiveness.
