Wendell O’Neal McKinney Jr. “Neal,” age 62, from Huntsville, Alabama, passed away Sept. 5, 2022. Neal owned an ACA International member collection agency in Knoxville, Tennessee, from 1984 to 1992, which he sold to RMB Inc. and was later purchased by Wakefield & Associates, Inc.
Neal attended Westminster Christian Academy and graduated from Covenant College. Volunteering was second nature to Neal. He served the Covenant College Volunteer Fire Department and the Chattanooga Hamilton County Rescue Squad, he worked as a soccer referee and a swim official, and he served at Hanarry Estates neighborhood events.
Neal is survived by his wife Janice McKinney of Lilburn, Georgia, his children Amanda (David) Shonfelt and Connor McKinney; parents Joyce and Charles Edgar; siblings Beth (Michael) Cooper, William (Sherry) McKinney, Katie (Mike) Willis, Charles (Beth) Edgar III and Margie (Matt) Ligon; uncle John (Janice) Sullivan, and many nieces and nephews. Along with his father, McKinney is preceded in death by his grandparents, G.O. and Mabel McKinney and J.J. and Corinne and Sullivan.
