There’s no question that 2019 will be remembered as a pivotal year in shaping regulatory policy related to the future of the accounts receivable management industry. Not only is the industry anxiously awaiting the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s new debt collection rules, but the industry has had an eagle eye on volumes of legislative activity including the much-publicized Telephone Robocall Abuse Criminal Enforcement and Deterrence (TRACED) Act.
If these issues and other policy decisions concern you, join ACA International and its advocacy team May 14-16 in the nation’s capital for the Washington Insights Fly-In.
In addition to scheduling meetings between ACA members and members of Congress and their staffs, ACA is working diligently to secure the most sought-after speakers in Washington to provide updates on a score of issues. Here’s a list of the latest leaders who have agreed to participate.
Tom Pahl, the policy director for research, markets and regulation at the CFPB. Pahl has had a tremendously successful and expansive career working at the Federal Trade Commission, the United States Senate Judiciary Committee under the leadership of Chairman Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, and as an adjunct professor of law at George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School
Congressman Ken Buck – The third term Colorado Republican serves on the House Judiciary Committee and the House Foreign Affairs Committee. He’s also the ranking member of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration and Citizenship, and serves on the Subcommittee on Antitrust, Commercial and Administrative Law.
