The U.S. Senate 2019 calendar released Dec. 11 is in line with the schedule of the new House Democratic majority issued in late November, Roll Call reports.
The Senate will convene for one day, Jan. 3, then return to session Tuesday, Jan. 8.
Its recess generally includes holidays, including a two-week recess for both chambers at the end of September and the beginning of October based on Rosh Hashanah, according to Roll Call.
The Senate will be in session one week longer than the House before the August recess.
