ACA International’s Indiana and Ohio units are coming together to hold the third annual Tri-State Collections Convention Aug. 15-17 at the Belterra Casino Resort in Florence, Ind., focused on best practices, management seminars and more.

Following a golf outing and reception for attendees arriving Aug. 15, the convention officially kicks off Thursday, Aug. 16, with an interactive presentation “Best Practices for Recruiting Employees” by Sharahn Monk, Talent Connections Leader for the Cincinnati USA Chamber of Commerce.

Thursday afternoon, the units are offering two ACA International CORE Curriculum seminars with Beth Conklin, account executive at State Collection Service Inc. The seminars include Successful Hiring Strategies and Effective Performance Management, which both meet requirements for ACA International's designations.

Don’t miss a State of the Industry update from ACA International President-Elect Jack Brown III, president of Gulf Coast Collection Bureau, and a panel discussion with Members Attorney Program representatives who will engage attendees on the topic of “Surviving the Complicated Litigious World of Collections.”

The convention concludes with a much-anticipated presentation by Josh Stevens, senior associate, and Nick Whisler, partner, from Mac Murray & Shuster LLP “Labels, Dialers, and Blocked Calls: Avoiding Common Calling Pitfalls.”

Join Stevens and Whisler for a discussion of the latest trends in call blocking and labeling technologies, regulatory and industry responses, and ways that you can mitigate the impact of these new technologies on your business. They will also discuss the latest developments in Telephone Consumer Protection Act compliance following the D.C. Circuit’s landmark decision in ACA Int’l v. FCC.

Don’t miss out on this opportunity!  Attendees also have the opportunity to win a $100 gift card by visiting every vendor in the Expo Hall and completing a vendor scorecard.

Visit the Tri-State Collections Conference website to register online or download the PDF form to register by mail with a check payment. Reserve your hotel room by visiting Belterra’s reservation page.  To receive the convention room rate of $109 plus tax, use promo code S1018CC when booking online or calling the resort directly, (812) 427-7777.
