The Print and Mail Coalition will discuss the impact of the Hunstein v. Preferred Collection and Management Services Inc. case and share their observations and alternatives in the marketplace during the ACA Huddle at 11 a.m. CDT Aug. 11.
The coalition includes print and mail vendors in the accounts receivable management industry that are working together in response to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals opinion in Hunstein, which held “(1) that a violation of [Section] 1692c(b) gives rise to a concrete injury in fact under Article III and (2) that the debt collector’s transmittal of the consumer’s personal information to its dunning vendor constituted a communication ‘in connection with the collection of any debt’ within the meaning of Section 1692c(b).”
During the ACA Huddle, moderator John Bedard Jr., owner of Bedard Law Group, P.C., will engage with coalition members to hear their insights on Hunstein.
Each ACA Huddle, sponsored by Connect International, Solutions by Text, Pay N Seconds and QBE, also features an update on the current landscape for receivables businesses from a federal and state advocacy perspective, as well as compliance.
