Learn leadership, compliance and advocacy from the slate of keynote speakers at ACA’s 2019 Convention & Expo, July 14-16 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront.
The three-day event, which brings together industry professionals from the U.S. as well as international members, is an opportunity to exhibit, sponsor, network and shine.
The first female F-14 Tomcat fighter pilot, Carey Lohrenz, will kick off ACA’s Convention & Expo with an inspiring message from someone who has worked in the most extreme environments imaginable.
This highly popular leadership session July 14, sponsored by LucentPay, will challenge, inform and inspire your team to move to higher levels of performance.
Lohrenz offers bottom-line expertise with clear, realistic takeaway items for audiences that can produce both short-term and lifechanging results.
On July 15, ACA’s advocacy team, including Vice President and Senior Counsel of Federal Advocacy Leah Dempsey, Vice President of Government and State Affairs Andrew Madden, Director of Research Josh Adams, Vice President of Congressional and Political Affairs Rae Ann Bevington and Vice President of Communications Kim Coghill, will present “The Beltway and Beyond: ACA Strategies for Success.” They will discuss and answer questions about legislative, regulatory and litigation activities at both the state and federal levels during this critical time for shaping policies impacting the debt collection industry. Discussions will include the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s first-ever Fair Debt Collection Practices Act rulemaking, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act and call blocking and labeling advocacy efforts, state legislative trends and other pressing issues at the state and federal level.
Attendees will also hear more about the Industry Advancement Program, industry research and communication efforts that play a critical role in advocacy. As the industry faces threats and opportunities impacting your ability to operate from lawmakers and regulators throughout the country, learn about how you can contribute to, and participate in, ACA’s advocacy efforts.
To conclude the keynote presentations, Will Bowen will join the main stage for “Complaint Free World,” July 16 following the awards breakfast, sponsored by Interactions. In this fast-paced and humorous presentation, Bowen will take you aside to think about the other complaints in your life—at work and at home. You’ll leave inspired, mindful of your own complaints, and motivated to approach complainers with new, simple and effective strategies.
