If you have a debt to pay, working with debt collectors to resolve your account is important. Debt collectors have tools to help consumers pay their debt in a manageable way. Communication with debt collectors is key.
The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau recently issued materials to answer consumers’ debt collection questions and how to tell the difference between a legitimate debt collector and scammers on its website.
