The Federal Communications Commission is in the process of implementing a reassigned numbers database, authorized in December 2018, to enable callers to verify whether a telephone number has been permanently disconnected, and therefore eligible for reassignment, before calling the number.
In a recent blog post, “Regulation in Search of a Problem,” ACA International member Karl Koster, chief IP and regulatory counsel for Noble Systems Corporation, provides his opinion and analysis of the effectiveness of the database to prevent unwanted calls to consumers and regulations of the Federal Communications Commission.
Koster will lead a Hot Topic Seminar: Understanding the Benefits and Costs of Using the FCC’s Proposed Reassigned Number Database for ACA International March 20.
