Are you ready for ACA’s Fall Forum & Expo?

As we arrived back from ACA International’s 2019 Convention & Expo in lovely San Diego and began to decompress from all the conversations we had, all the ideas that flowed and all the takeaways we learned, our attention soon turned to preparing for ACA’s Fall Forum & Expo, which will be held Nov. 6-8 in my favorite city to visit, Chicago.
This issue of Collector magazine discusses buying and selling ARM companies, responding to consumer complaints, using new technology to meet compliance expectations and more. I used an interesting word there, “discusses.” I actually misused the word, because to discuss certainly infers conversing, debating and deliberating about the aforementioned topics. Yet this doesn’t occur from the pages of Collector. Don’t get me wrong, Collector and its contents are invaluable, but to contextualize my point, I encourage you to use these topics (and countless others) as the basis for true discussion and collaboration with like-minded peers at the Fall Forum & Expo.
Too often we rely on technology to communicate our ideas, thoughts and concerns rather than picking up the phone and having a conversation or getting together to break bread and discuss merits and drawbacks of various topics. There’s no better place to do this than at a live ACA event. For those of you who were in San Diego, you know the vibe and energy I’m talking about. I made it a point to ask numerous people what they thought of ACA’s 2019 Annual Convention & Expo and I received overwhelmingly positive feedback.
I always ask one question: “What did you get as a takeaway that will pay for your trip?” The answers I hear vary, and often include a new vendor, a new service, how to make more money with what I’ve got, how to reduce risk and how to fight litigious consumer attorneys.
I get these answers from every size shop, from attorneys, from affiliates and even from staff. What I simply don’t get as a reply is negative feedback.
I know this sounds like a sales plug for ACA’s Fall Forum, and that’s only because, well, it is. But I don’t just want to sell you on the benefits of attending the event. I also want to remind you of the reasons to attend and convince others to join us. I want to make sure those of you who don’t normally attend these events start developing a touch of FOMO so you will come and not miss out on opportunities to network and learn.
I want to see you at The Drake Hotel in Chicago sharing your industry knowledge, connecting and smiling with peers, discussing dinner plans and even the cocktail before.
I want each of you to get as much as I do out of this event. I want each of you to join me in building the energy of ACA and, of course, to bring someone to join the fun. Remember: Every member, get a member. EMGAM!
